New Policy

To assist you in developing superior study habits that will serve you through high school, college and beyond, I am implementing the following late policy with the accompanying rationale:

1. Late Policy
The late policy in jr high science classes will follow the establish late policy in sr high science classes and sr high history classes.
Assignments are due in class on the day noted at the beginning of class.
Assignments turned in anytime after that will incur a late penalty.
After the beginning of class but the same day- L1- minus 10% of score
Assignments turned in the next day- L3- minus 30% of score
Assignments turned in the following day- L5- minus 50% of score
Assignments turned in anytime thereafter- L7- minus 70% of score
Assignments due online will be due by midnight of the due date. After that time the L3, L5 and L7 designation will occur as applicable.

Rationale- Due dates matter. It is important to learn to provide work in a timely fashion. Penalties serve to encourage timeliness. The "always at least 30%" rule encourages students to do the work no matter how late it is as some points are better than no points.
